Paris Unrest to spread around the world, promises French Unions. Hundreds of thousands of angry and fearful French workers mounted nationwide strikes and protests Thursday to demand President Nicolas Sarkozy do far more to fight the economic crisis.

Public and private sector workers united in the protest to seek increases in salaries, greater protection for their jobs and more intensive government efforts to simulate the economy. Source

 

As I mentioned in an earlier blog "Anarchy coming soon to a town near you?"  and in "Anarchy Reprise"   there is much afoot.

 

Since then there have been riots and unreast in Latvia, Bulgaria and Iceland. Iceland?  Iceland for pete's sake? Really, what's the world coming to?

 

Now from the Davos  ,

 

Guy Ryder, the general secretary of the International Trade Union Confederation (ITUC), said that the current financial turmoil had triggered a social timebomb that would lead to deepening civil unrest and soaring crime.

Mr Ryder, speaking as strikes involving hundreds of thousands of workers erupted across France and Germany, told The Times: "We are on the road to serious social instability, which could be extremely dangerous in some countries to democracy itself." Source

 

Discounting that most at Davos are anti-capitalist, anti free-market, it should be noted that the assault on private property continues and free enterprise and America is particularly to blame for the current world economic crisis.

 

Granted America style capitalism was NOT indented to operate in a vacuum without a "moral governor" as guided by our national motto "In God We Trust"  ; but make no mistake about it, it is neither America's fault we are here nor is the failure of the free-market. Instead, it is the absence of free-market the absence of our values that brings us to this point.

 

It is plainly obvious, that many around the world represented at Davos do NOT believe that "You Own You" , or at least the result of your own labors. Instead, they believe they are entitled to you and will use any means necessary to claw at it until they succeed.  Fomenting, riots, unrest and conflict everywhere they go.

 

What happens to you, your family, our beloved republic if anarchists are successful in spreading the pandemic of misery, faithlessness, class envy and the world view that "they are entitled to what is yours"?

So what's your debt load?. 'Whacha' carrying on credit cards, line of credit, mortgage, second mortgage,  student loans, car payments, store credit cards?  Total that up and ad another $7,000.00. Yep, that's what "Dear Leaders"  'Porkapooluza' will cost you!

Be mindful as you look at this list, that the CEO of Google, was instrumental in 'Dear Leaders" campaign. How much of the IT spending is pay back?

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton suggested on Tuesday the world was breathing a sigh of relief that President Barack Obama had replaced George W. Bush and was working to fix the damage he had caused. Source.

 

"Elections have consequences" and whether most Americans knew it or not, they've elected people who DO NOT HAVE America's traditional ideals at heart. Instead, we have elected to the highest office of the land and to the congress people who openly profess distain for the very values that made this country great. These particular confederates are working diligently to change much about core "American Values of hard work, personal responsibility, individual freedom and God given liberties to a collectivized set of unproven science, failed social and economic engineering and re-prioritize our national interests abroad to embrace foes whom have sworn that it is their 'sacred duty' to convert or kill us.

 

"Dear Leader" penned in his book Audacity; "I will stand with the them [Muslims] should the political winds shift in an ugly direction" . .   he went on to opine that "Judeo-Christian heritage will recede as an all-religions country emerges". Not only is "dear leader" demonstrating a willingness to abandon American policies abroad; but, eager to bring about a tectonic shift in culture here at home. He, his congressional myrmidons and his following are 'legion'.  Yet we slumber - blissfully ignorant.

 

Even while we allot scant attention, the House of Representatives, under the guise of "Stimulus" are preparing to foist upon the American taxpayer "the invoice" to pay for the tectonic cultural and value shift - in the form of House Bill "HR1 American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009".

 

This stimulus bill will cost the American Taxpayer more than the Louisiana Purchase, the New Deal, plus nearly every Fed program ever done combined! Not to mention that under the guise of Stimulus democrats a ear-marking the bill with every imagined pork-barrel plan they've been denied for the last 20 years.

Annually Heads of State and the wealthiest of Business leaders sojourn to a ski resort in Davos Switzerland to attend the World Economic Forum and to chat about - what else: "the world economy"!. Really, thousands of financial elites from all over the globe confab for 5 days in unimagined - at least to me - luxury whilst discussing issues related to the global economy.

 

The story isn't how much money attendees will be spending daily (close to $10,000 per day, each) or even how wealthy they are. Of interest is how many attendees will willingly throw-over the same economic system that "brought them to the dance" in order to pick the pocket of the American Taxpayer.

Per the Wall Street Journal on Monday:  

 

"This may be the first Davos where capitalism is widely viewed as a failure, rather than something to be admired," says Ethan Kapstein, professor of economics and political science at French business school Insead, who has been going to Davos since 1994.

"The capitalist myth is lovely and youthful. It kicked off the industrial revolution, but maybe we need a new one," says Richard Olivier...

To this gauntlet of inquisitors,  finger pointers and haranguers, likely to be lead by Russia's Prime Minster Vladimir  Putin and China's Premier Wen Jiabao; we, the United States (US or "us") are NOT sending thenewly appointed cabinet members of "dear Leader" -  the head of our National Economic Council Lawernce Summers , or even or National Security Adviser James Jones. Instead we are sending  'Dear Leader's" confidant: Valerie Jarrett.  (Who is Valerie Jarrett? Source )  I pray that MS Jarett is up to the task of defending our country's  interests. All the while "dear Leader" is signaling weakness to the rest of the world -  in the middle of the gravest economic challenges in decades -  he is  signaling that the US/World economy is not  important enough to send those in his cabinet that are tasked with it's oversight.

 

Let me be clear, and to quote Rush;" elections have consequences" and whether we accepted it at the time or not, we have elected in 'Dear Leader' a President known for is hostility to capitalism. His representative will be the "voice of America" at the World Economic Forum.

 

If capitalism and the free market are not vigorously defend by us - the Untied States, then by whom will the Free Market be championed?

 

Ceding our interests, Americas interest to the redistributionist in Davos would be the absolute sacrificing of our economic welfare to the alter of socialism. Moreover, it would forever make "working Americans" slaves to the demands of others not only from this country; but from around the world.

So, Senate Majority Leader Nancy Pelosi says; "contraception will reduce costs to the states and to the federal government."  "Consequences for the downturn in our economy". . . "Contraception will reduce costs to the sates and to the federal government."

 

On a similar stimulus note regarding "The Mexico City Policy, "President Barack Obama on Friday struck down the Bush administration's ban on giving federal money to international groups that perform abortions ..." Source 

 

For a president who told the American people that he would; "support policies to reduce abortions", the reversal of the ban certainly doesn't live up to that pledge. More over, it   provides US taxpayer money for abortions AROUND The Globe.

 

Last year, in the US, we ended the life of over a million babies through abortion! At least 40 million dead since 1973! If this were our countries enemies say at Gitmo,  the libs would be apoplectic. Not speaking to the issue of genocide on our own citizens here; but, what of this idea to use part of the "stimulus plan" to stimulate "Abortion on Demand" 

 

What does this say about the people in post-modern America. How could we all not be shamed by this?

 

 

 

 

Mr. President:

First, let me say congratulations on becoming the 44th President of The United States and also the first African-American elected to the most powerful office in the world.  You have proved, finally, that America is not a racist nation.  Maybe now we can put that to rest as we move ahead.

With the honor that the American people have bestowed upon you, and as an African-American, you have the unprecented chance to spur the African-American youth to finally lift themselves out of mediocrity and become part of a society that welcomes success over failure.

You have the bully pulpit to tell young black men to pick up their pants, stop listening to gangsta rap, calling their women hos, being responsible for fathering children and to get an education.  Getting good grades should not be considered "acting white" and denigrated.  It should be considered acting smart and applauded.

Young black women need to know that getting pregnant at 14 is not acceptable behavior, and getting an abortion is not an acceptable alternative to not getting pregnant in the first place.  They need to respect themselves before anyone else will.

In my job I see many African-American children of young ages.  These children are bright, talented and loving.  They don't start life being drug addicts and criminals.  They don't start life being resentful and hating those who are more successful than they are.  They learn those kinds of behaviors because their families and our government have failed them.

Their families fail them because many come from a home with no father.  Many mothers have children by multiple fathers.  There is no guidance and no value system.  They live in government-subsidized housing and their role models are drug dealers and street thugs.  They come from families who for generations have been given government handouts that only help them to exist instead of succeed.  Government's job is not to provide eternal care for anyone.  That is nothing more than slavery redux.  

Our public school system has failed them because they are forced to go to failing schools that don't teach; they indoctrinate.  While that may be good for unscrupulous politicians, it does nothing to enlighten the young minds that will one day be asked to solve the problems the future will bring.  

I urge you to use that "bully pulpit" to speak directly and often to the youth that is our future.  Not for you, but for them.

Timothy Geithner, whose nomination as Treasury secretary has been delayed by his past failure to pay taxes, was repeatedly advised in writing by the International Monetary Fund that he owed Social Security and Medicare taxes on the income he earned at the organization between 2001 and 2004.

 

Questions over his initial failure to pay more than $34,000 in taxes are clouding his prospects for confirmation. The Senate Finance Committee postponed Mr. Geithner's confirmation hearing for the second time this week on Wednesday. It's now scheduled for next Wednesday, which means President-elect Barack Obama will take office without a Treasury secretary amid the biggest financial crisis in decades. Source 

 

 

Tax evader Timothy Geithner should not be confirmed as Treasury Secretary for if he is, we will all be lessen by allowing such dishonesty to stand.

 

If you live in Florida I urge you to contact both Senators Nelson and Martinez and ask them NOT to confirm Geithner. (Regrettably, Sen. Nelson is one of the 18 members of the Senate Finance committee voting so send nominee Geithner to the full Senate. We can only  extrapolate his vote will be affirmative.)

Another Macho Sauce Production

 

I heard a news report this morning that Minnesota has mandated that all school systems must use bio-fuels in their school buses in an effort to curb CO2 emissions that are causing global warming.  You've heard of Minnesota right?  This is the state that has almost; maybe; we're not really sure yet; I think they did; they just might or maybe not have elected a washed-up former comedian named Al Franken as US Senator.

Now I know there has been a drastic rise in temperatures in Minnesota lately, it's gone from -40 degress to -39 degrees.  So if you live in Minnesota you better get out your canoe because the snow is on the verge of melting by tomorrow and turning The Land of 10,000 Lakes into the sixth Great Lake. You may have to hunt moose (if they let you keep your guns) from a bass boat.

Obviously the state legislators, in their profound wisdom, forgot to do their research.  It seems that bio-fuels turn to gel at temperatures below -10 degrees.  Unlike napalm, combustion engines do not work real well with gel.  

So let's see; it's winter; it's Minnesota; it's cold as hell and the school buses can't start because the fuel is turning to Sterno.  So guess what, all the buses now have to be parked in heated garages.  Of course many of these garages are heated from electricity generated by COAL-FIRED power plants.

Ahh, the comforting sound of the words:  "I'm from the government, and I'm here to help."  In the dead of winter, doesn't that just make you feel warm and fuzzy all over? 

Roll up your sleeves

Prepared to be remade. But, remade into what?

 

After being on the giving end, both in money and in community service, I find it quite offensive to be told; I need to be remade . . . and  by inference that I've not given enough.

 

American for all her "post-modern" sins, is still the greatest country on earth, with the most generous and giving of peoples.  America and her people are the "First Responders" to the world's tragedies. What part of this America needs to be remade?

 

America has some of the worlds most productive and inventive people on the planet. Think what the world would be like absent the inventions, discoveries, cures, talents and vision of the American People. What part of this America needs to be remade?

 

America and her people have done more to secure the blessings of liberty and Freedom for others than any other peoples in the history of the world! What part of this America needs to be remade?

And this pack of political jackals are already tearing at the carcass of American taxpayer,  and ripping asunder the social fabric of our society.

 

For Heaven's sake, PEBO isn't even in office yet and the vilest of criminal behavior seems to be sanction by the media, by congress  and by PEBO himself. Make no mistake these swindlers are on us,  robbing, thieving, stealing:  everything that's not nailed down. Pilfering everything  from elections to tax payer money and anything in between. By their actions they are tarnishing the very sanctity of our souls and we all are sitting around like a bunch of "new inmates in a prison movie about to get punked".

 

If Conyers applied the same standard to the office of the President elect and to his party that he wishes to apply to the opposition, then half of them would either be  in jail for corruption, collusion and racketeering or already been found guilty of treasonable offenses and giving aid & comfort to our enemies.

 

Of course there are the garden variety criminals in the landscape of PEBO. As well as the anti-American , left wing radical, communist and foreign terrorist that make up  some of  PEBO's close associates.

 

With friends, political appointments  and personal associations such as these:

 

Rezko, Mahru, Aramanda, Davis, Ayers, Dohrn, (Jodie)Evans, Baghdadi, Khalidi, Wright, Pfleger, Fraharkan, Soros, Graham-Felsen,  organizers at Acorn, ACLU;  and cabinet appointees and other political associates with sordid pasts or presents, like  Geithner, Holder, (lisa) Jackson, (carol) Brown, Blagojevich, (bill)Clinton

 

... we have every right to expect the seed of Chicago "thug politics" to bear fruit that doesn't fall far from the tree. 

 

If were a nation that still believed "In God we Trust", our own sense of shame would not let these transgressions stand. Instead, we are all besmirched when vice goes unpunished.

Washington DC Metro Station on a cold January morning in 2007. He played six Bach pieces for about 45 minutes. During that time approx 2 thousand people went through the station, most of them on their way to work. After 3 minutes a middle aged man noticed there was a musician playing. He slowed his pace and stopped for a few seconds and then hurried to meet his schedule.

4 minutes later the violinist received his first dollar: a woman threw the money in the till and, without stopping, continued to walk.



6 minutes, a young man leaned against the wall to listen to him, then looked at his watch and started to walk again.

10 minutes, a 3 year old boy stopped but his mother tugged him along hurriedly, as the kid stopped to look at the violinist. Finally the mother pushed hard and the child continued to walk, turning his head all the time. This action was repeated by several other children. Every parent, without exception, forced them to move on.

45 minutes; the musician played. Only 6 people stopped and stayed for a while. About 20 gave him money but continued to walk their normal pace.
He collected $32.

1 hour; he finished playing and silence took over. No one noticed. No one applauded, nor was there any recognition.

No one knew this but the violinist was Joshua Bell, one of the best musicians in the world. He played one of the most intricate pieces ever written, with a violin worth $3.5 million dollars. Two days before Joshua Bell sold out a theater in Boston where the seats averaged $100.

This is a real story. Joshua Bell playing incognito in the metro station was organized by the Washington Post as part of an social experiment about perception, taste and people's priorities. The questions raised: in a common place environment at an inappropriate hour, do we perceive beauty? Do we stop to appreciate it? Do we recognize talent in an unexpected context?

One possible conclusion reached from this experiment could be:

If we do not have a moment to stop and listen to one of the best musicians in the world playing some of the finest music ever written, with one of the most beautiful instruments .... how many other things are we missing?

Last week I heard Mainstream Media (MSM) types, rabidly loyal to their social cause, leg furrowing, knickers twisting and nearly apoplectic in their ebullience, joyfully echoing the Office of the President Elect BHO - PEBO statement "Only Government can solve nation's (economic) problems"

 

Change is already  upon us and the "anointed one" has yet to take office. It's not so unusual that a socialist lefty would propose a state solution over a private solution.

The real story is in how readily accepted socialist solutions have become in the new "Yes We Can" - err I mean "Yes The Government Can" (and will with your money) world of PEBO USA.

 

Even in a post modern America, the shift to government managed economy should scare everyone and not just the 48% of the payer vote.

 

Like a frog in pot coming slowly to boil, America's embrace of socialism has been a long, slow, concerted effort. The "52 percent-ers" have been inculcated by a "tenured instructor class" who's economic ignorance is as dangerous as it is fallacious and continues to foist the "great fiction that we can all live at the expense of others".

 

 

I recently heard Newt Gingrich say (paraphrasing here) that "Our parents generation scrimped, saved and scarified all their lives to provide for our generation, and Now our generations is diligently working and sacrificing our children's future to provide for our generation". 

 

What we have is "trickle up moral cannibalism" eating away at the very fabric of our beloved republic and few even seemed concerned.

 

Just today, in the Business Section of our local Pravda (Orlando Sentinel - who's begging for it's own bail out)  the business columnist opines:

 

"So you can imagine the fear running through politicians and economic-development gurus whose success is often measured by how many jobs they help create"

 

The author goes on to bemoan that current economic environment that will force the State to curtain spending to incent other businesses to relocate here. Source

 

The inference of course is that jobs come from politicians and economic-development gurus instead of business!!!! And the state must bribe other companies to move hear via loans, cash and tax incentives.

 

Somebody must stand up and say it: "Governments don't have ANY money for loans, cash or other incentives unless they take it , yes CONFISCATE IT from someone else first!".

 

The saddest commentary is that we have politicians, "economic-development gurus", and apostle of ignorance  willing to plunder existing business to incentivize  others to move here - for what: - so they too can be cannibalized?

 

In a Brave New World ignorance is indeed bliss - or at least doesn't raise your blood pressure. Is it time yet for the "Soma Holiday"? 

This is War - on Gun Owners

Now, another attempt by the Federal Government to disarm Americans so that only criminals have guns!

 

US Rep Bobby Rush, D Ill, has proposed:  H.R. 45  known as  "Blair Holt's Firearm Licensing and Record of Sale Act of 2009". Source

 

If passed, the bill would make it illegal to own or possess a "qualifying firearm" - defined as any handgun or any semiautomatic firearm that takes an ammunition clip - without a "Blair Holt" license."  Moreover, to obtain a license an applicant must  submit "papers" that include Thumb print, photo, firearm safety test, and release of MENTAL HEALTH records to the Attorney General.

 

Importantly: the bill makes it illegal to transfer ownership of a qualifying firearm to anyone who is NOT a licensed gun dealer or collector!!! This makes it a crime to buy or sell guys to friends!

 

Criminals, by their very nature do not comply with existing laws. By inference, the purpose of  "Blair Holt" must be to disarm the law abiding citizens of this country.

 

Now ask yourself; "for what possible reason would the federal government want to disarm its citizenry?"

1. Either to create easy pickin's  for criminals
2. Or, for something much more nefarious (see addendum below)

 

I have often wondered if this is an attempt by Liberals to criminalize many of law abiding citizens in Red States - INSTANTLY - with a simple stroke of a pen!

 

So we finally know what Dems are willing to wage war for: and it's not The War on Terror, instead, it is the War on Law abiding citizens.

A Little Gun History Lesson

  In 1929, the  Soviet Union  established gun control. From
 1929 to 1953, about 20 million dissidents, unable to defend
 themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

  In 1911,  Turkey  established gun control. From 1915 to
 1917, 1.5 million Armenians, unable to defend themselves,
 were rounded up and exterminated.

  Germany  established gun control in 1938 and from 1939 to
 1945, a total of 13 million Jews and others who were unable
 to defend themselves were rounded up and exterminated

  China  established gun control in 1935. From 1948 to
 1952, 20 million political dissidents, unable to defend
 themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

  Guatemala  established gun control in 1964. From 1964 to
 1981, 100,000 Mayan Indians, unable to defend themselves,
 were rounded up and exterminated.

  Uganda  established gun control in 1970. From 1971 to

 rounded up and exterminated.

  It has now been 12 months since gun owners in Australia
 were forced by new law to surrender 640,381 personal
 firearms to be destroyed by their own government, a program
 costing  Australia taxpayers more than $500 million dollars.
 The first year results are now in:

  Australia-wide, homicides are up 3.2 percent

  Australia-wide, assaults are up 8.6 percent

  Australia-wide, armed robberies are up 44 percent (yes,
 44 percent)!

  In the state of  Victoria  alone, homicides with firearms
 are now up 300 percent. Note that while the law-abiding
 citizens turned them in, the criminals did not, and
 criminals still possess their guns!

  It will never happen here? I bet the Aussies said that
 too!

  While figures over the previous 25 years showed a steady
 decrease in armed robbery with firearms, this has changed
 drastically upward in the past 12 months, since criminals
 now are guaranteed that their prey is unarmed.

  There has also been a dramatic increase in break-ins and
 assaults of the ELDERLY. Australian politicians are at a

Particularly interesting are the comments related the MSM's handling of Caroline Kennedy Schlosberg's possible nomination to the open Senate seat in New York. And simply constrasting the treatment.

Well - sadly; but not surprisingly Jeb Bush, former popular governor of Florida has declined to run for the 2010 Senate seat of our fair state. 

 

I mean - would you? 

 

After leaving the governor's mansion, joining what has become roiling cesspool of congressional politics - to whit:  the Illinois senatorial seat up for sale like so much chattel , blatant political theft of the Minnesota senate seat by people who put party interest above all else,  and the machinations to ensure that VP elect, Senator Joe Biden's seat passes like some "privilege of title"  to the Dauphin, err I mean  his son and the matriarchal malarkey that would pass New York's seat to MS Kenndey  - would certainly be more than most of us could bear.

 

Can you imagine being subservient to the Senior Florida Senator Bill Nelson or kowtowing to Harry Reid? That would be akin to Jack Welch leaving as CEO of GE only to return as a shipping clerk to be bossed around by the arbitrary and capricious whims of a low level floor manager.

 

Of course, what passes for reporting in our local newspaper whose "forthright journaling" has long earned it the title "Orlando Slantinel", could not resist yet another demonstration of why their subscribers have chosen to abandon them: by aiming parting salvos at just how unpopular President Bush is. And, by direct inference, just how bad a president he is because of his unpopularity.

 

But like the "cable barker", hawking gewgaws and trinkets says; "but, wait there's more"! 

 

The fact of the matter is that According to USA Today /Gallop President Bush (43) is leaving office with a 29% approval rating source, by contrast Gallop shows congressional approval at an even lower 20% rating. Wow, Bush's approval rating is nearly 45% better than Congress' approval rating is! Yet, the Mainstream Media (MSM) continues to tell us how unpopular the President is without any reference to congress' even more dismal fairing!

 

And that is the real story; President Bush is nearly twice as popular as congress; but, you would never know it if your information came only from the MSM.

On the twelfth day of Christmas, my true love sent to me:

Twelve drummers drumming,

So the Reuters' story proclaims,  Government aid  could save US newspapers. source  . . .Is it just me or is this some sort of quid pro quo for helping 'O-bominate' the nation?

 

Newspapers are failing in many cities in the U.S. simply because they have forgotten that their core mission is to report News rather than act as a PR firm for the Democrat party, and their socialist special interest groups. Instead of news, what we get is an agenda driven gangsta beat-down of traditional values, replaced with a lifting up of all that the post modern world has to offer: relativistic truth,  supersession of God with self and a sense that we are no longer responsible for ourselves that is offensive to many who have long abandoned their subscriptions.

 

So in addition to the probable reprise of the Fairness Doctrine, we'll have 'guv-ment' supported, soviet style newspapers, echoing the 'progressive' ruminations of BHO, Pelosi and Reid. All the while the pro 'guv-ment' propaganda is being distributed to that segment of the populace eager for "more from others" while being funded by those "very others" that do the paying - the tax payer. Regrettably, this confiscatory tax scheme more closely resembles a criminal enterprise extorting protection money than payments for services the taxpayer actually receives.

 

Ironic that the beggar-vote in this country will continue to have their "entitlement belief system" reinforced through an ongoing conspiracy to deliver approved "Newspeak" all at the expense of the rest of us. So in the greatest of thefts, we the taxpayer, are actually being forced to pay to disseminate the idea that others are entitled to that which we have earned.
