Putting the Underwhelming Spending Cuts
from Congress and Obama into perspective

(hat-tip Carlo)
Not long ago, Nancy Pelosi, the San Francisco Treat, just about broke down when trying to pin the mantle of "violent extremists" on tea party participants: But, in spite of the media's acceptance (without a shred of evidence) of her thesis, the only violence has been coming from SEIU thugs, Obama supporters and a United States Congressman with a big "D" behind his name.
And how about this upstanding citizen: Any questions?

I awoke this morning to the earth-shattering news that our Dear Leader, President Barack Hussein Obama, had just been awarded the Nobel Peace Prize.

All I can say is:  HUH?

I thought about his accomplishments for world peace and came up with exactly zero.  Nada, zip, zilch, fly speck, goose egg, naught, nix, nothing, zippo and diddly squat also come to mind.

So it seems that his award was more for his style than any substance.  Because Mr. Teleprompter has not delivered anything but nice speeches.

Has he ended the war in Iraq?  In Afghanistan?  Has he persuaded his admirers in the Muslim world to stop their homicide bombings?  Has he been able to bring about a change of heart from Hamas' desire to shoot thousands of missiles into Israel?  And how about the "Madman of Iran?"  Have you heard that the president of Iran has changed his mind about the Holocaust and his promise to blow Israel off the map?

I don't think so.  But of course, the messiah does fill us all with "hope."  So maybe if we "hope" for all these things, they will come true.  And maybe if we just "hope" that our lotto numbers are picked, we will become instant millionaires.  If we only have "hope."

Let me point out that the Nobel Prize committee is the same group of enlightened individuals that awarded the Peace Prize to Al Gore in 2007.  Mr. Gore actually beat out Mother Theresa.  You remember her; she was the Catholic nun who lived among the lepers and wretchedly poor in Calcutta, India.  She devoted her whole life to easing the suffering of the least fortunate among us.  And, I might add, never earned a penny for her troubles.  But how does that compare with the Great Peacemaker?  After all, he did invent the Internet.  And he does love polar bears.

It must have been a tough choice though.  Hmmm, let's see, Al Gore or Mother Theresa.  Oops, sorry Mama Terry, we're going to have to go with Al Gore.  Don't forget, he did put solar panels on the roof of his 10,000 square foot house in Nashville that consumes 12 times the electricity as the average American home.  Oh, sorry, I digress.

In case you're wondering, this is also the same mindset that awarded the prize to Yassir Arafat, the lovable little terrorist who was responsible for the deaths of thousands of Israelis AND Palestinians through decades of his leadership of the PLO.  Oh, and let's not forget another US president who received the honor while in office:  Woodrow Wilson.  His great accomplishment:  incarcerating 150,000 Americans whose only crime was disagreeing with his policies.  They were our first political prisoners.

The bottom line is that the Nobel Prize is awarded more for the committee's aspirations and dreams than for actual accomplishments.

I guess they're filled with "hope" too.

042709.jpgCollectivism, Socialism, Communism: "Women and children hardest hit.".

Stealing a play from the lib playbook, I'll use a headline that is one of their favorites - you know the one they always use to grab your attention - the headline that declares whatever impending doom is coming - typically caused by mean hearted republicans - will impact women and children first  -

"Budget cuts coming - women and children hardest hit" or  Asteroid collides with earth  wipes out entire population, "women and children hardest hit"

In a recent Rasmussen poll 30% of Democrats say they prefer Socialism! The figures for the under 30 crowd are even more staggering: while 37% prefer capitalism, 33% prefer socialism and a staggering 30% are undecided. Source

Can someone please explain to me that in a world where collectivism in all of its forms have been demonstrated a failure, we have 33% of those under 30 embracing it and another 30% undecided about its efficacy? Can there really be that many tenured professors romanticizing about the good old days of Stalin and  Mao or lifting up Castro's Cuba as a current modern economic model? I'm just saying would you rather have Cuba's economy than our own?

Well, if you would rather Cuba's economy, hang on it's coming - many in the 'Dear Reader's" administration have an affinity for socialism. These folks are working diligently to bring that home to us  - with all that it entails:  including high unemployment or massive underemployment,  inflation, slow or regressive growth. Not to mention all that comes with state managed; education, health, economy and faith.

If you prefer socialism to capitalism then, the light you see at the end of the tunnel is not the end, instead it is a "flashlight on a ration card"!
As I riffed in Circle of Trust, blessing of faith, was founded on certain Judeo-Christian  principles.

Below is a video of Dear Leader Reader stating that we don't consider ourselves a Christian Nation.

continued from 'Fear!'

The changing American psyche from the concepts of independence and self reliance to the ideas of dependence and government subsidy is due in large part to the New Deal and the manifesto it inspired: that the government can and should solve your problems. . .

Those advancing the New Deal manifesto are also the same pusillanimous characters who are snared by the fallacious argument that 'we can all live at the expense of someone else'. However, this is a belief absent from our founder's documents and until public schools elevated FDR to near sainthood and the New Deal to nearly a sacrament these beliefs were absent from the American concepts of self too.

Never has this belief that that the government can and should solve your problems been more dangerous for our country that what we have been witnessing for the past few days.

The market, rocked by an ever more serious series of trials - not the least of these include the Fannie Mae Bailout, Porkulus, and as if to add insult to injury: Mortgage Relief has been on a 2000 point tank since Dear Leader was inaugurated. It is as if the last eight years of sweat, blood, hard work, toil  and travails have been undone in the last month. What it took all Americans 8 years to build Dear Leader, Pelois and Reid destroyed within their first 30 days of office. Can you image what the next 4 years will be like?

And now, as if Hugo Chavez is the president of the United States, the headlines on Drudge scream "To Seize or not to Seize" and shares of major banks plummet on fears of out right nationalization! source

Hardworking Americans deserve - no, have earned better treatment than this; but alas we are in for more punishment while bad behavior- okay fraudulent gaming the system behavior is celebrated, uplifted, even rewarded. And as if some by some act of cosmic cruelty, the undeserving will be rewarded by dollars confiscated from us!

This for everyone who did NOT see this today. I watched live and was thinking he sounded like a combination of Sam Adams and Paul Revere - quite remarkable for broadcast TV.

As the Fabric of our nation frays from the constant "tug of war"   between personal freedom and welfare state slavery, there is much nefarious afoot.

So, just when you think things can't get any worse, there is this prognostication that the United States will fall apart in 2010. And, that the ensuing economic and moral collapse will trigger civil war and accomplish what the "war between the states" could not: the eventual breakup of the US. Source (Wall Street Journal):

(yes the map is to get you to read the story link above.)

The real story isn't the ongoing predictions of the demise of America, instead the story is that many forces both internal and external seemed to be aligned to make this a reality.

While "Dear Leader" signals weakness to the Islamic-Fascists and to our national economic competitors many of our long standing adversaries seemed poised to affect advantage over both our failing economic situation and quite obvious moral decline.

Though most immediate challenge to the United States and our principals of Liberty, Freedom, Personal Responsibility and Pursuit of Happiness seems to come not from our enemies; but, from our very own elected officials who are at this very moment scheming to steal from every taxpaying American - all the while telling us we are NOT paying enough or is that (patriotic enough)

Perhaps that is why they (Alibama and the Forty Thieves) are so anxious to:

Paris Unrest to spread around the world, promises French Unions. Hundreds of thousands of angry and fearful French workers mounted nationwide strikes and protests Thursday to demand President Nicolas Sarkozy do far more to fight the economic crisis.

Public and private sector workers united in the protest to seek increases in salaries, greater protection for their jobs and more intensive government efforts to simulate the economy.

As I mentioned in an earlier blog "Anarchy coming soon to a town near you?"  and in "Anarchy Reprise"   there is much afoot.

Since then there have been riots and unreast in Latvia, Bulgaria and Iceland. IcelandIceland for pete's sake? Really, what's the world coming to?

Now from the Davos  ,

Guy Ryder, the general secretary of the International Trade Union Confederation (ITUC), said that the current financial turmoil had triggered a social timebomb that would lead to deepening civil unrest and soaring crime.

...

Mr Ryder, speaking as strikes involving hundreds of thousands of workers erupted across France and Germany, told The Times: "We are on the road to serious social instability, which could be extremely dangerous in some countries to democracy itself." Source

Discounting that most at Davos are anti-capitalist, anti free-market, it should be noted that the assault on private property continues and free enterprise and America is particularly to blame for the current world economic crisis.

Granted America style capitalism was NOT indented to operate in a vacuum without a "moral governor" as guided by our national motto "In God We Trust"  ; but make no mistake about it, it is neither America's fault we are here nor is the failure of the free-market. Instead, it is the absence of free-market the absence of our values that brings us to this point.

It is plainly obvious, that many around the world represented at Davos do NOT believe that "You Own You" , or at least the result of your own labors. Instead, they believe they are entitled to you and will use any means necessary to claw at it until they succeed.  Fomenting, riots, unrest and conflict everywhere they go.

What happens to you, your family, our beloved republic if anarchists are successful in spreading the pandemic of misery, faithlessness, class envy and the world view that "they are entitled to what is yours"?

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton suggested on Tuesday the world was breathing a sigh of relief that President Barack Obama had replaced George W. Bush and was working to fix the damage he had caused. Source.

"Elections have consequences" and whether most Americans knew it or not, they've elected people who DO NOT HAVE America's traditional ideals at heart. Instead, we have elected to the highest office of the land and to the congress people who openly profess distain for the very values that made this country great. These particular confederates are working diligently to change much about core "American Values of hard work, personal responsibility, individual freedom and God given liberties to a collectivized set of unproven science, failed social and economic engineering and re-prioritize our national interests abroad to embrace foes whom have sworn that it is their 'sacred duty' to convert or kill us.

"Dear Leader" penned in his book Audacity; "I will stand with the them [Muslims] should the political winds shift in an ugly direction" . .   he went on to opine that "Judeo-Christian heritage will recede as an all-religions country emerges". Not only is "dear leader" demonstrating a willingness to abandon American policies abroad; but, eager to bring about a tectonic shift in culture here at home. He, his congressional myrmidons and his following are 'legion'.  Yet we slumber - blissfully ignorant.

Even while we allot scant attention, the House of Representatives, under the guise of "Stimulus" are preparing to foist upon the American taxpayer "the invoice" to pay for the tectonic cultural and value shift - in the form of House Bill "HR1 American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009".

This stimulus bill will cost the American Taxpayer more than the Louisiana Purchase, the New Deal, plus nearly every Fed program ever done combined! Not to mention that under the guise of Stimulus democrats a ear-marking the bill with every imagined pork-barrel plan they've been denied for the last 20 years.
