My New Year’s Resolution

With the probability of a second Obama term determined, I decided to
make a New Year’s Resolution (something I never do.)  Knowing of the
barrage of incoming new laws, regulations and royal edicts that are on
the way, I have listed a compendium of things I pledge to do in 2013.

1.  Buy stock in Smith & Wesson (they will no doubt be my two best friends.)
2.
Buy plenty of ammunition.  When food, gasoline and housing become
unaffordable, someone is going to want what I have.  Lock and load.  Aim
and fire.
3.  Buy gold and silver.  With the Fed printing $40
billion of monopoly money each month, how long do you thing it will be
before we become the Weimar Republic and a loaf of bread costs
$4,000,000,000,000?
4.  Buy and store enough food to last several
months.  When gasoline hits $10 a gallon
(which is the target price of Obama’s Secretary of Energy Steven Chu)
the cost of milk, bread, meat and other necessities will rise exponentially.  (See #2 also.)
5.  And finally, in the end,
when the meltdown eventually comes, move to Texas.  It’s still called
“The REPUBLIC of Texas.”  It was its own nation, and may be again.  It’s
self-sustaining and has an economy larger than most of the countries in
Europe.   AND, Texans still believe in the real American ideals:
self-responsibility, a strong work ethic, belief in law and order and
faith in God.  An added plus, Texans voted for Romney over Obama by 16%
points.  My kind of people!

So, my five goals for the New Year
may seem a bit premature, I mean after all, the president has said he is
going to unite us in his second term.  I think I heard that song and
dance in 2008.  It didn’t work out too well then, and it’s my guess,
that it will not work out any better now.

To paraphrase Sir Winston Churchill:

I have,
myself, full confidence that if all do their duty, if nothing is
neglected, and
if the best arrangements are made, as they are being made, we shall
prove
ourselves once again able to defend our Republic, to ride out the
storm, and to outlive the menace of tyranny, if necessary for years, if
necessary
alone.  We shall go on to the end, we
shall fight on the seas and oceans, we shall fight with growing
confidence and
growing strength in the air, we shall defend our American ideals,
whatever the cost may
be, we shall fight on the beaches, we shall fight on the landing
grounds, we shall fight in the fields and in the streets, we shall fight in the
hills; we shall never surrender, and even if, which I do not for a moment
believe, this nation, under God, or a large part of it were subjugated and starving, then true patriots, would carry
on the struggle, until God, with all His power
and might, steps forth and once again saves us from ourselves.

Saddens me deeply to realize that we now live in a country where half of our neighbors think it’s a perfectly legitimate function of government to make the other half of our neighbors pay for their stuff…
Praying that God will save us from ourselves – again!
