They know better.

Any of you who know me well, know I’m a big fan of capitalism.  If it wasn’t for capitalism, we would all still be living in caves and urinating in bushes.  And if it weren’t for rich capitalists, none of us would have a job.  You can’t get a job from a poor person.  If you think otherwise, try going to a homeless shelter and see how many folks down there can put you to work AND give you a check that won’t bounce at the end of the week.

I also love rich people.  I love them so much, I want to be one of them.  And I want you to be one too.  In fact, I want you to be so rich that you belong to the top 1% of Americans that pays 40% of the tax bill.

Now I never complain when I hear rich people spending money stupidly.  I mean if you want to buy a diamond encrusted iPod for $50,000 that’s your business.  You earned the money and gosh darn it, you ought to be able to act like a complete fool with it.  Or if you spend $2 million on your daughter’s wedding while 10% of the American people are having a hard time putting food on the table.  Again, that’s your money and your business.  But you shouldn’t be telling me that YOU think that I should give more money to the federal government because you think it’s “fair.”

So, since Hillary is admonishing the rich, let’s look at the Clintons.  Bill and Hillary are throwing a, what could only be described as, the wedding of the century, for daughter Chelsea. Total tab is $2 million. The flowers alone are $500,000 and the catering is $1 million. The price per plate is $1,500!  That’s just for the food.  Now you could feed each guest a one ounce gold bar and still have enough left over for them to dine in relative splendor. Mr. and Mrs. Clinton, if you’re so worried about the poor in this country, it would seem to me that you could have had one hell of a party for half the cost and donated the rest to charities. They could have fed an awful lot of poor folks.
But, of course, that’s not what liberals do. They think it’s ok for them to keep their money and spend it any way they like, but not us.  You see, we can’t be trusted to make our own choices.  They want to force us (at the point of a gun) to give more of our money to the government. Then they can dole it out to their friends and special interest groups. All in the name of fairness of course.

Just because they know better.

As I have always said, “commerce is the cornerstone of civilization!” Without trade you have near privation, scarcity and underdevelopment – unless you can make everything you need yourself.
Capitalism is also what allows us to exchange, trade or barter the fruits of our labors into other things we need. And, absent free trade, we would all have to know how to do everything – which explains why most third world economies languish in their insufficiency.
