Putting the Underwhelming Spending Cuts
from Congress and Obama into perspective

(hat-tip Carlo)

So when folks with experience chime in and say ; "you should NOT do that" I typically try and at the very least - listen!  Often, because of their familiarity with the subject, they can either reduce a steep learning curve or help avoid painful consequences from resultant actions. In this case, it's the latter.

And that's the way it is when Czechoslovakian Prime Minister and E. U. President Mirek Topolanek says, Obama plans are "a way to hell"!  So that we are clear: the  E.U. - is yes, that EU - the European Union.

Believe it or not, the President of the EU - the EU that is the beloved institution of the Mainstream Media and liberals everywhere - is cautioning the United States that Dear Leader's Reader's stimulus package and financial bailout "will undermine the stability of the global financial market."  Source

Now, when a leader of a former communist country suggests that certain socialized economic plan might not be the best way to go, we should listen and listen carefully. These former communist countries have "pushed down the tall grass" of socialism and found it wanting. In fact, they have clearly demonstrated to the world that collectivism fails - and fails every time it's tried. Yet, either due to ignorance, simple stupidity or extreme hubris our congressional leaders and POTUS TOTUS (teleprompter of the United States) seem to be destined to repeat their failed excursions into communalism (communism) , social engineering and "obligated fairness".

So,  a glimpse of Czechoslovakia's former Stalinization can be like a crystal ball for our future.  Here take peak and tell me where do you think we are now:

  1. Purging of faith from society
  2. Abolition of private ownership
  3. Strong Centralized Government
  4. Complete government control of education
  5. Outlawing of dissident
  6. Single party rule
  7. A heavy progressive or graduated income tax
  8. Centralization of credit in the banks of the state
  9. Abolition of inheritance
  10. Equal obligation of all to work -establishment of industrial or agricultural  armies

So what can you do today?

  1. Participate in one of the National Tax Day Tea Parties to make your voices heard.
  2. Contact your House of Representative's member
  3. Contact your Senators
  4. Contact "Dear Reader"

In our country the revolution comes at the ballot box - be ready to vote these lying lawbreakers out of office or be prepared to initiate a ballot recall for those carrying the socialist banner.

We currently have the right for "redress of grievances", we should exercise it!

Journeying into the  moral abyss we go!

"In a government of laws, the existence of the government will be imperiled if it fails to observe the law scrupulously.  Our government is the potent, the omnipresent teacher.   For good or for ill, it teaches the whole people by its example.  Crime is contagious. If the government becomes a lawbreaker, it breeds contempt for law; it invites every man to become a law unto himself; it invites anarchy."

 Olmstead v. United States, 277 U.S. 438, 469-471.

No bill of attainder or ex post facto Law shall be passed.

U.S. Constitution Section 1, Article 9 clause 3

While much is being made of the AIG bonuses, the fact that as a percentage of their bailout ration it's statistically insignificant - something close to 900ths of 1 percent - nothing is being made of the real  significant event: that the House of Representatives  has violated their oath of office and the constitution by voting a 'bill of attainder' to impose a 90 percent tax on bonuses paid to recipients of federal bailout money. The main target: the $165 million paid to some 400 people at American International Group.

It is becoming obvious that our very own electors have traded our nation of laws, for a nation of political whims. Like treading quicksand, we as a nation are bound to sink into essence of avarice, where sloth is rewarded and the  pit fires of envy are stoke to feed the lust of overly proud politicians eager to gluttonize taxpayers.

Those voting for this AIG bonuses tax have violated the constitution and are at the very least criminals and most they are traitors. They should be treated as such.   Regrettably, they will be hailed as champions of the down trodden. But, make no mistake,  as we  as a nation learned what the "Meaning of is  - is", we too will learn from our government that crime is contagious. For if our very lawmakers are lawbreakers - then what of the rest of us!

Cram Down?/! - whiskey tango foxtrox -over?

So what is Cram Down?

It's real name is H.R. 1106: Helping Families Save Their Homes Act of 2009.

This bill as passed by the House of Representatives allows a Judge to modify the rights of claim holders with respect to a claim for a loan originated before the effective date of this Act and secured by a security interest in the debtor's principal residence that is the subject of a foreclosure notice.

In other words, a judge can change the terms of the contract.

Aside from the 'Moral Hazard' implied by  the idea that some in the 'entitlement class' are due a home for free, and ensuring that home prices will be higher, much higher for everyone else; Cram  Down screams:

The 'Rule of Law' is NO MORE!

And in its place is the arbitrary and capricious want of man.

In the United States of America the 'Rule of Law' exists no longer.

In our post modern culture, aside from removing God from the underpinnings of our society, destroying the rule of law will have the single most deleterious affect we've ever known.  For now, we are all cast into a legal underworld of vagaries where you are no longer bound by social mores, your own good word or even a legal contract. Instead, you are bound by whatever a judge decides.

"Whatever", that vacuous anthem of apathy of the new po-mo generation will soon to visit some manner of fresh hell to us all as mechanism of business degenerate into a seething morass of confusion, legal confrontations and pitch battles over what was once clearly recognized as right and wrong!

The harpies of hell get a 2fer: more social confusion and failing financial institutions too.

You see, a scheme where Guv'ment mandated risk, forces banks to loan to those who can't pay and obliges mortgage interest rate suppression where the banks make less on the loans that they can collect, is a recipe for failure. Oh and a certain guarantee that the Freddie Mac / Fannie Mae cycle of taxpayer theft continues thus indenturing more to the Plantation of the Welfare State.

"N.Y. Democratic Sen. Chuck Schumer took to the floor on Tuesday to sneer at public outrage over the trillion-dollar porkulus. "The American people really don't care," he said, about those "little tiny, yes, porky amendments." He punctuated his derision by pinching his pointer finger and thumb together. Only the "chattering classes"
worry about such trivial matters, Schumer scoffed."

When are we going to say enough is enough?  Our Congress is full of condescending, supercilious S O Bs like Schumer.  They look down their collective noses at us and sneer at the great unwashed who through neglect, apathy, and mostly stupidity, keep electing these scoundrels to public office.

It must be noted that this is not peculiar to one party.  Although the Democrats are overloaded with blowhards like Schumer, Reid and Pelosi, the Republican Party certainly has its share.  It's time to weed them out.

George Washington warned us against having a two-party system and we are now discovering just how right he was.

We all need to be Sons and Daughters of Liberty again.  We all need to read or re-read our Declaration of Independence and Constitution and keep them in our hearts and minds.  These two documents are the most important documents ever written by man.  And I'm thoroughly convinced, guided by God's hand.

People I talk to are angry and feel isolated.  Everyone asks: "What can I do all by myself?"  My answer is:  "Plenty!"

Don't be afraid to speak your mind.  You'll be surprised how many people will agree with you.  Remember, almost sixty million people DID NOT vote for Obama; and many who voted for him are now regretting it.  So don't be afraid.  You have plenty of freedom-loving friends on your side.

Speak up now, or you may be silenced forever.

Headlines now scream:

Communist: Obama working to nationalize U.S. economy

Claims 'people advocate president' pushing through radical agenda

President Obama is "considering" a radical agenda to nationalize the U.S. financial system, the Federal Reserve Bank, and private industries such as energy and other sectors whose future is "problematic" in private hands, claims the leader of the Communist Party USA.
...

"We now have not simply a friend, but a people's advocate in the White House," declared Webb at a recent speech in Ohio for People's Weekly World Communist newspaper. Source

Well it's official, the head of the Communist Party USA says they have not just a friend; but, advocate in the Whitehouse!

During the 2008 campaign, I shouted out to many regarding the socialist implications of "Dear Leaders" promises, only to be chastised by many who disbelieved that they could actually be enacted.

Now with the impending passage of the PORKULUS bill, it seems we are nearly there, close to the edge, on the brink, "headed for catastrophe" as Dear Leader has been saying. The catastrophe of course is that we, the United States will be moving from a free market economy  to a managed socialist economy without so much as a whisper from our citizens. The crime here is the "quickening" of pace and the rush to get it done without through review or introspection of consequences.

The senate version of HR1 was delivered out very late Saturday night weighing in at 778 pages, there is now way that this bill can be reviewed,  and vetted and have any reasonable objections heard. Since, it's authorship is from the Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi wing of the Democrat party, you can bet that it will be much more about empowering democrats as a party and redistributing wealth from those that earn it to those that don't.

And that's not all, Newsweek is now reporting with some sense of pride that "We are all Socialists Now".  Source

This is the stuff that should be everyone's blood run cold.

Congress frt 2 LR.jpg

Well - sadly; but not surprisingly Jeb Bush, former popular governor of Florida has declined to run for the 2010 Senate seat of our fair state.

I mean - would you?

After leaving the governor's mansion, joining what has become roiling cesspool of congressional politics - to whit:  the Illinois senatorial seat up for sale like so much chattel , blatant political theft of the Minnesota senate seat by people who put party interest above all else,  and the machinations to ensure that VP elect, Senator Joe Biden's seat passes like some "privilege of title"  to the Dauphin, err I mean  his son and the matriarchal malarkey that would pass New York's seat to MS Kenndey  - would certainly be more than most of us could bear.

Can you imagine being subservient to the Senior Florida Senator Bill Nelson or kowtowing to Harry Reid? That would be akin to Jack Welch leaving as CEO of GE only to return as a shipping clerk to be bossed around by the arbitrary and capricious whims of a low level floor manager.

Of course, what passes for reporting in our local newspaper whose "forthright journaling" has long earned it the title "Orlando Slantinel", could not resist yet another demonstration of why their subscribers have chosen to abandon them: by aiming parting salvos at just how unpopular President Bush is. And, by direct inference, just how bad a president he is because of his unpopularity.

But like the "cable barker", hawking gewgaws and trinkets says; "but, wait there's more"!

The fact of the matter is that According to USA Today /Gallop President Bush (43) is leaving office with a 29% approval rating source, by contrast Gallop shows congressional approval at an even lower 20% rating. Wow, Bush's approval rating is nearly 45% better than Congress' approval rating is! Yet, the Mainstream Media (MSM) continues to tell us how unpopular the President is without any reference to congress' even more dismal fairing!

And that is the real story; President Bush is nearly twice as popular as congress; but, you would never know it if your information came only from the MSM.

torches.jpg

Okay, so the Apostles of Ignorance have outdone themselves today!

With a  sputtering economy and companies shedding jobs like a sycamore in a snow storm, Congress has decided to say "Qu'ils mangent de la brioche" - "Let them eat cake"!

In a move that would make Marie Antoinette seem like the great philanthropist, Lawmakers have determined they deserve a pay raise.  Quickly, overlooking the fact that they had the chance to do the "right thing" and freeze their pay, instead, Lawmakers "pimped their pocketbooks" and voted themselves a raise.

While I supposed we should take heart that congresses has confidence that there will indeed some taxpayers left and we all won't be in breadlines, this certainly is a biter pill to swallow when 2 million Americans have lost their jobs - so far this year.

The hypocrisy of these "congressional confiscators" is unbelievable, their "over-the-top" histrionics while forcing auto exec to accept a one dollar a year salary - yes, I mean a buck a year - is beyond any sane understanding. And it's obvious that their hubris knows no bounds. It's okay for us to "tighten our belts" yet their ever expanding appetite for our money shows no sign of satiation.

Instead of representatives, we now seem to have  "Washingtonian monsters" whose hunger for money and the power it buys is unquenchable.

Regrettably we just missed the most recent opportunity to make things right with the voter's equivalent of 'pitchforks and torches' known as the ballot box.  Will it be too late to set things right in 2010? And, with such Congressional Jackassery on proud display, when might the need arise to switch the ballot box for the real pitchforks and torches to chase these monsters out of office?

Quiz Time

A labor union is:

Answer A:

Workers bind together to form Unions so that they together can fight for better work conditions. Without the power of the Union workers would completely be at the mercy of the employers. But sticking together they got a better change to fight for their interests.

Answer B:

Outdated social construct perverted from a once noble mission into socioeconomic virus destined to usher in the next great depression.

Answer C:

An association that uses thuggery, hooliganism, bribery, extortion and blackmail to get the wage level raised above its true value for its workers and the real reason jobs are shipped overseas.

Answer D:

The reason why  the "Big 3" auto maker's cars cost, on average, $2000 more than the same type car made domestically by their Japanese competitors  everything made in blue states cost so much.

Answer E:

All of the Above.

No matter how you answer the question above, labor unions impact have had a deleterious affect on a free-market and apparently and probably only temporarily, on their own the bail-out future.

To their credit, Senate Republicans refused to back federal aid for Detroit's Big Three without some guarantee that United Auto Workers would agree to wage cuts to match pay with prevailing market value - that is to be more inline with the pay of Japanese car makers. The UAW refused!  Even though these cuts would not occur until the end of 2009!

As similarly blogged in Shark Diving many people do NOT have a understanding of business - except that they believe that the purpose of business is to provide jobs (jobs, jobs, jobs baby.). And if a business fails and the jobs go away, then the assumption is; " well okay I'll just get another  job". . .

So the "Big 3 Bailout" or Car-pocalypse if you will, fails -  due to UAW intransigence  and the Republicans will get the blame.
