Where's the laughter now?

Did you ever notice that freedom of speech to liberals/progressives/socialists/Marxists/communists means that it only applies to them?

The darling of the left-wing media, the Rev. (I don't know what he's a reverend of) Al "I'm blacker than Obama" Sharpton, wants the FCC to go after stations that carry Rush Limbaugh, implying that their licenses should be revoked.  Rev. Al made his jaw-dropping suggestion to Ed "All conservatives are Nazis" Schultz on Schultz's lower-than-low rated PMSNBC show.

Now I know some of you may be smirking at the outrageous suggestion put forth by the man who sees every white person as a KKK member, but let me remind you that in 2008, Rep Maxine Waters, D-California, said in a hearing with Shell Oil executives that "the government would be about taking over and running all your companies."  You laughed then.  Are you still laughing?

Below is a transcript of Sharpton's comments:

AL SHARPTON: When you keep having all of these racial tones, that is supported by federally-regulated radio--remember, these stations that he is on go to the federal government to get consolidation, to get waivers--the government has a right to protect free speech but they also have an obligation to hold standards where American people are not subjected to this
. . .

I think that even if his advertisers can't be stopped with boycotts, the FCC must step in and deal with standards on how they give station clearances to people that just want to race-bait. This is not about opinions, this is not about what you or I say in our college speeches or churches.  This is on federally-regulated airwaves that the FCC gives the license to stations to let them do this

. . .

The Congressional Black Caucus, Progressive Caucus and others ought to take this up with the FCC.  Their ought to be a line, on race, on gender, on sexual status. There ought to be a line where people have the right to say what they want, but they do not have a right to use federally-regulated airwaves to malign people because of groups

. . .

I think that Rush Limbaugh does what he does. I think that what bothers me is there are stations and networks that are allowed to make money off of him desecrating the presidents of the United States on Mount Rushmore.  That bothers me.

Still laughing?

Just in case you think this kind of lunacy is only limited to this race baiter, pay attention to the senior Senator from West Virginia, Democrat Jay Rockefeller.

Laughing yet?

Now I don't care if you love Rush or hate Rush.  I don't care if you're an elephant or an ass; a Conservative or a Liberal.  If you think the government should arbitrarily shut down ANYONE'S political commentary because it finds that "there ought to be a line where people have the right to say what they want" then what are you going to say when they want to shut down your voice?  Will it still be funny?

What's that?  I can't hear you.

and today I read on Drudge that the Feds have started to seize domain names - in a somewhat arbitrary and capricious manner.

Wonder how long it will be before they seize Drudge?
